Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8
Are you on your guard?
Are you prepared for battle?
If the enemy attacks you today (maybe when is a better way to say it) are you ready to defeat him?
What is your weapon of choice? When God equipped you for battle he gave you the sword of the Spirit - The Word of God. Are you ready to wield your sword?
What verses do you have in your arsenal?

Lisa, it is important that I use that aresenal, instead of devouring and biting others....love, Yolanda
But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard [you] from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3
After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen {and} establish you. 1 Peter 5:10
These are just two of many verses that remind me of the beauty of our LORD's desire to protect us and keep us close to Him. The word "will" in both verses sends the strength of God into the midst of our lives, our trials, our need for protection from Satan. No matter what the circumstances are God knows what we are dealing with and has given us the armor, the tools, His Hand to stay on the straight and narrow with Him. For this, I am so grateful. ~ linda
Yes, God has given us His word, as our sword against the enemy. I thank God also that He promises that if we keep close to Him, abiding under His shadow, we are safe and secure.
There is an active and passive side to fighting the enemy, but when it is a roaring lion, seeking to devour, then we better be active!
Thank you for this post, Lisa!
What a beautiful picture in your header, and what a gorgeous Lion! I know that's the wrong thing to say for this message. lol. But God's creatures are so amazing to me. They always put me in Awe of Him.
Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not for I am with thee, be not afraid for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee, yea I will help thee. I will uphold thee with my righteous right hand.
Best wishes for the makeover drawing!
Rich blessings to you!!
Today in my Bible reading I read this in Psalm 149: 6..."Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;".....which reminded me that I need to continually praise God but at the same time be aware of the "roaring lion" that's running around loose. And then I went to Hebrews 4:12 where I was reminded that"the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword" ! So I know that I MUST stay in the word of God to be protected!
Hope you are having a good week!
